The home at 1885 Pitner Road Acworth, GA 30101 is the kind of home you would find in a magazine and features a long winding driveway through a dense wooded 5 acres that make you feel as though you are in the middle of a forest.  This home is the perfect retreat! We wondered what it’s like to live in such a wonderful home! Here is what our sellers had to say:

The Land

The house is positioned 2/3rds of the way back on the highest point of the property. During the spring, the native dogwood trees bloom throughout the 5 acres and are enhanced by the greenery beginning to grow. It is breathtaking to see in its natural unaltered natural setting. The landscaping around the house is such that is blends in with the natural look of the land. Azaleas, dogwoods, and hydrangeas surround the house and bloom from spring to summer. A waterfall feature off of the side of the house looks as though it was there before the house was built with beautiful ferns grow out of the stream. The white oaks are the dominant oak and several are strategically lit up with landscape lights around the entire house. Deer can be seen practically daily passing through at all times of the day but particularly in the early morning and evening. They blend in so well it’s hard to point them out sometimes. While we have bird feeders placed in several areas, the real show is the owls and hawks. We keep a set of binoculars handy because the birds are sometimes huge and we like to see close up shots.

The Porches

The 3 porches all offer an opportunity to take in all the beauty of the property. The screened in porch overlooks the back and is large enough for having meals, which we do often. It is accessed from the family room. There is a side screen door to access the gas grill or the other porch. The other larger porch is also off the family room but through a side door. The porch is open but it does have a roof. There is also an outdoor fireplace and this porch overlooks the waterfall feature. This is the perfect place for unwinding after work or watching sports on the TV over the first place on Saturday afternoon. Many naps have been taken on this porch after a round of golf. Both porches have ceiling fans and it is never really too hot to entertain. When the weather is nice we live outside. The front porch with the rockers is fun for a change of scenery. It’s incredibly relaxing to sit out here to watch the summer storms.

The Main Floor

You can come into the house through the front door entry or the side door of the front porch into the kitchen. Upon entering the home from either entrance, you can see the stunning greenery directly through the back windows. The home features any windows, high and low, so you can really take in the surroundings from anywhere on the main level. The large kitchen extends into the family room; we find ourselves living in these two rooms when we aren’t outside! The semi-circle granite countertop is one of the favorite gathering areas when we have get-togethers and even parties!

The Basement

The basement is massive with an extra bedroom that we currently use as a workout room, raw storage space, separate garage, and side entrance with parking. It has 4 rooms not counting the workout room and bathroom. The house was specifically built for a business with employees, however, it would easily be made into an in-law suite, entertainment room, and much more.

The Area

There are 2 grocery stores, 2 banks, 4 pharmacies, and numerous restaurants including Reveille (a very popular breakfast eatery) Chick-Fil-A, and several others. There is an Anytime Fitness and The Northwest YMCA as well as the Cobb County Library nearby.
