Many people believe the misguided notion that the spring is the best time to sell. While there are more buyers during the spring and summer, there are many reasons why it's more difficult to sell during that time. Here's 3 of them:

  1. Statistically, the highest number of job transfers happens in January. This means there are many relocation buyers looking for homes in the late fall and early winter months. They are also serious about moving quickly.
  2. There is much less competition in the fall and winter. Most sellers decide to take their home off the market for the holidays. They don't want to have to deal with selling it around this time, and don't think anyone will come out anyway. This couldn't be more wrong - since there is less competition, your home will be exposed a very broad pool of buyers.
  3. You'll have first dibs on available homes once you sell yours. You'll be ready to go home hunting once all the sellers who waited until spring start to put their homes on the market. If you want a leg up on buying your next home, it's crucial that you put your current one on the market soon.

These are just the obvious reasons selling now can be so beneficial. If you want to discuss your options, or would like more information about current market conditions, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to hear from you!
